Music

Music has been my most meaningful extracurricular commitment. An escape and a joy. The challenge of working on a new piece, even the mistakes, lead me on a journey. Time simultaneously speeds up and slows down. I’ve played the piano almost all my life and the cello for the past six years. Besides the technical aspects: the precision needed for producing the notes (cello) and reading the treble and bass clef simultaneously (piano); each instrument has shown me a new world of melodic experiences.

I am drawn to playing cello compositions by Camille Saint-Saëns, Antonín Dvořák, and Johann Sebastian Bach.  My favorite cellist is Sheku Kanneh-Mason. For the piano, my favorite music to play are compositions by Claude Debussy, and Frédéric Chopin.
