Coffee’s Corner

Music        drowned out by grinding beans,

Muffled      talking.    Work, school, cats, 

Fingers      dancing frantically on keyboard,

Chairs        shifted, rubber streaks on the floor.

Lights        dimmed, 

Sun,           piercing through the windows,

Dust,          sparkling in the beam

Smells        paninis, and papers with news now stale 

Air               cool, trapped and still.

Turning        back to work.
