The Missing Lego Piece

No way of knowing

Without the build

Piece by piece

Hours up in smoke

wilting

under the weight of the missing piece

One of a fifty or a thousand

One

replacements seeking refuge

in old works that must             now be unraveled

a cascade of changes

stepping on each other
